The nominations for the sixth Dr. Guislain Award are closed.
This international initiative rewards organizations, individuals or
projects that have made an exceptional contribution in the social
or cultural field, in breaking the chains of stigma with regard to
mental illness. The award ceremony will take place on October
10th, 2017, World Mental Health Day, in Ghent,
The organization evaluates all submitted nominations in
accordance with the selection criteria and elaborates a first
selection of about 20 candidates. The number of times an
organization has been nominated, has no influence on the
selection. The selected organization will receive a mail
requesting more extensive information about their project.
An international and heterogeneous selection committee of
prominent jurors within the social, cultural and medical field
starts the evaluation of the 20 selected nominations. After
deliberation, the committee selects the person, organization or
project that has made the most exceptional contribution to breaking
the chains of stigma, by June 2017.
Around October 10, World Mental Health Day, the organization
presents the Dr. Guislain Award 2017 in a ceremony in Belgium. The
laureate receives the award from the jury, Brother Dr. René
Stockman (General Director Museum Dr. Guislain) and Dr. Husseini
Manji (Global Therapeutic Area Head, Neuroscience, Janssen Research
& Development, LLC).
